What is a SWIFT / BIC code?
A BIC (Bank Identifier Code), also known as a SWIFT code, is an 8 or 11-character code that uniquely identifies a financial institution worldwide. It is defined by ISO 9362 and used in international wire transfers.
When you send money internationally via SEPA or SWIFT, your bank uses the BIC to route the transfer to the correct institution and branch.
