IBAN QR Code Generator

Enter any IBAN to generate a scannable QR code. Add a beneficiary, amount and reference to a SEPA IBAN for an EPC payment QR (GiroCode) that banking apps scan to pre-fill a transfer. Download as SVG, high-resolution PNG, transparent PNG or PDF. Everything runs in your browser, so your IBAN is never stored.

Payment details

Optional. Add a payee, amount and reference to encode an EPC payment QR (GiroCode).

Enter a valid IBAN to generate your QR code.

What Is an IBAN QR Code?

An IBAN QR code encodes a bank account number in a machine-readable format so that banking apps, payment terminals, and accounting software can scan it directly, eliminating manual entry errors.

For SEPA countries (the EU and associated states), this tool generates an EPC QR code following the European Payments Council standard. This richer format encodes not just the IBAN but also the BIC, creditor name, and optionally an amount and remittance reference. Apps like ING, Revolut, N26, Wise, and most European mobile banking apps can scan an EPC QR to pre-populate a payment form instantly.

EPC QR vs Plain IBAN QR

What Is a GiroCode?

GiroCode is the name used in Germany and Austria for an EPC QR code. It follows the same European Payments Council standard (EPC069-12) and encodes a SEPA Credit Transfer. This tool produces a GiroCode the moment you add a beneficiary name to a SEPA IBAN, with optional amount and payment reference. Earlier the beneficiary field is empty, so the code stays a plain IBAN QR until you name a payee.

Download Formats

Need an Adobe Illustrator file? Download the SVG or PDF. Both open directly in Illustrator as fully editable vector artwork, which is exactly what an .ai file would give you.

Common Use Cases

Need to validate an IBAN before generating a QR? Use the main IBAN checker to confirm the account is valid and look up the bank name and BIC.
