Acceptable Use Policy
ibanchecker.cash is a professional IBAN validation tool for legitimate financial operations, software development, and compliance workflows. This policy defines what you may and may not do with the platform. It supplements our Terms of Service.
Permitted Uses
You may use ibanchecker.cash for:
- • Validating supplier or customer IBANs before initiating payments
- • Integrating IBAN validation into your application, ERP, or payment workflow via API
- • Bulk-validating IBAN lists for data quality or audit purposes
- • Extracting and validating IBANs from documents or free text
- • Educational and non-commercial research into IBAN formats
- • Development and testing of payment software (using test IBANs)
- • AML/KYC pre-screening workflows to verify beneficiary account structure
Prohibited Uses
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
Financial Crime
- • Using the API to generate or enumerate valid IBANs for fraudulent account creation or scam facilitation
- • Any use that facilitates money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion
- • Misdirected payment fraud (IBAN manipulation attacks)
- • Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks involving IBAN substitution
Platform Abuse
- • Circumventing rate limits by creating multiple accounts, rotating IPs, or sharing keys
- • Automated scraping of SWIFT/BIC data or bank directory content
- • Distributing or reselling API access without written authorisation
- • Sending intentionally malformed requests to degrade service availability
- • Reverse-engineering the validation logic or extracting proprietary data from API responses
Legal & Regulatory
- • Any use that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction
- • Processing data that you do not have authority to process
- • Using the service to facilitate payments to sanctioned individuals or entities (OFAC, EU, UN lists)
Fair Use
Even within your plan’s monthly request limit, we expect API usage to reflect genuine validation needs. We reserve the right to throttle or suspend accounts showing patterns inconsistent with legitimate use — such as systematic enumeration of IBAN check-digit combinations or sustained burst traffic designed to exhaust rate limits.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in:
- • Immediate API key suspension
- • Account termination without refund
- • Reporting to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities
We cooperate with law enforcement investigations in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
